MAASAI
The Maasai live simply, and close to nature. They work with it, nurture it, and are held by it. Their food, their homes, everything around them comes from the land, and to them nature is not scenery. It is culture, life, and a heritage passed down from their ancestors.
They have what they need, and nothing more. They don’t add things to their lives just to add them. Together they are happy: pure, authentic, quick to smile, and sincere. They follow the ancient path with pride, and I admire them deeply for it.
Our world today has evolved in so many ways. It can enrich our lives, but not always our souls. Standing among the Maasai, with so little around them and so much in their laughter, I understood how little we actually need to keep our minds at peace.
Maybe peace was never something to acquire. Maybe it was something we carried all along.
